A giclee (zhee-CLAY), is an individually produced, high-resolution, high tech reproduction using a special large format printer. Giclees available at this web store are produced from digital scans of existing artwork and then printed onto canvas or watercolor paper using 100-year archival quality inks, rather than dyes, which will fade after 20-25 years. Giclees are far superior to traditional lithography in that the color reproduction exceeds the color reproduction quality of traditional printing methods. Most collectors cannot see the difference between an original and its giclee reproduction without a very close inspection.
