Description: Two canvases are mounted together in a floating frame each rendering a view of the southern California native plant Morning Glory. It is a trailing vine that blooms with delicate white flowers, tinged with pink. The center of the flowers presents a counterpoint of brilliant yellow and green.  In this painting the very warm browns, reds, oranges and yellows combine to create an image that seems to glow from within. As in almost all of Kris' Native Plant Series of paintings a hard edge element reminds the viewer how the man-made landscape intrudes into habitat of our planet's native plants. In this diptych, the hard edge element is the line between the two views of the flowers.
